Bonfire's Environmentally Friendly PFOA Free Outerwear

Perfluorooctanoic Acid has been used in the garment industry for decades as part of the waterproofing treatments used on technical outerwear. Anytime a technical peice of outerwear is labeled as having a DWR or durable water resistant coating, there is a good chance PFOA was used. This substance has recently been deemed potentially hazardous to the environment by the EPA. Since this finding, the EPA has placed a ban on its use in clothing and outerwear that is slated to take effect in 2015. As part of a more earth-friendly and consumer-conscious approach, many brands, including Bonfire, are showing their dedication to the environment by removing the substance from their products prematurely.
