During active pursuits such as skiing, hiking, or snowshoeing, bacteria can build up in garments naturally from the sweat we create. Patagonia’s Gladiodor® garment odor control helps to reduce the buildup of this bacteria in multiple ways. The molecular construction of these fabrics is such that the microscopic bacteria are drawn onto molecular “spears” in the fabric that kill the bacteria that can create odor. Carbon particles infused into the garment also absorb odor-causing compounds created by bacteria buildup. This quality extends the life of the fabric by limiting the amount of washing it requires.
